Description

Sisters’ Ranch
3,647 Acres
Marfa, TX – Presidio County

Location:
The Sisters’ Ranch is south of Marfa, TX approximately 40 miles off of County Rd 169. The Ranch is tucked back in the remote desert of the Trans-Pecos region of South West Texas in Presidio County. The natural beauty of the Big Bend National Park borders this magnificent ranch on its western side.

Terrain:
Sisters’ Ranch is considered a mountain desert ranch that ranges from high mountain peaks, to big canyons, and dry creek beds. There are some vast diverse elevation changes on the ranch as the high peak in Presidio County is found on Sisters’ Ranch, known as Cienega Peak with an elevation of 4500 ft. where the incredible views are absolutely breathtaking.

Water:
Sisters’ Ranch receives its water from 2 wells that are piped across the ranch. The main well feeds the main ranch house and then numerous tanks and drinkers. The second well is a solar powered well and is piped to some of the lower country of the ranch.

Access:
Access to the ranch begins an estimated 40 miles south of Marfa, TX where one will take County Rd 169. Sisters’ Ranch is remote, rugged, and extremely private. Year-round access and year-round enjoyment are huge advantages to the Sisters’ Ranch.

Hunting/Recreation:
The Sisters’ Ranch is a hidden jewel with some of the best Quail numbers to be seen on a mountain desert ranch, followed by some truly magnificent trophy Mule Deer. Other wildlife on the ranch are peccary or to most of us javelina/skunk pig. These can truly be a sportsman’s delight as they are interesting characters to watch and to try and stalk down for a shot. As the Mule Deer are outstanding on the ranch, let’s not forget about the Gold Medal Award winning Aoudad Sheep that lay claim to the high mountains of the Sisters’ Ranch. I have personally viewed and guided several sheep hunts and the Sisters’ Ranch has some of the best trophy sheep that I have ever seen. In one day, I have witnessed over 60 sheep with seven 30+ inch rams. If you’re a sheep hunter and the type of sportsman to answer the challenge this ranch could be calling you.

Improvements:
The older main ranch home at the headquarters needs a little TLC but is a good home with lots of history. There is an older set of working pens and a few barns that are also attached to the headquarters. Sisters’ Ranch is fenced, cross-fenced, and set up with drinkers and storage tanks.

Summary:
Sisters’ Ranch is a wonderful place that is deep in West Texas ranch history. I believe a person could spend countless hours just hearing the tales that have been brought about in this vast remote region of Texas. The Sisters’ Ranch will entertain the whole family or the whole company with so much adventure such as four-wheeling/ATVing, horseback riding, big game hunting, or the great gentleman sport of quail hunting. This is a top rate desert ranch at fantastic price and it would be my honor to show it to you!
