Highway 789 Farm
This very productive 208+ acre farm is located along the edge of the city of Riverton in Fremont County Wyoming. Located in the Wind River Valley in central Wyoming and surrounded by the Wind River Mountains, the valley is watered by snowmelt from the high mountain peaks which is the source of the scenic Wind River. The farm’s east boundary fronts Wyoming Highway 789 just north of Riverton. The city limits are adjacent to, and across the highway from the farm, and livestock supply and implement dealers border it.
Currently producing beans, sugar beets, alfalfa, and pasture under side roll sprinkler and flood irrigation. Water is supplied by the LeClair and Riverton Irrigation Districts. Extensive leveling and concrete ditch allows efficient use of flood irrigation on 113+ acres of the farm, currently in beans and sugar beets. A solar powered, gravity fed sprinkler system provides a cost effective and labor saving use of the of the remaining 95 acres of alfalfa, currently in the 2nd year of production. Approximately 18+ acres of pasture and grass hay above the canal is sub and sprinkler irrigated.
There is power, a well, and small equipment shed on the property. An access road off the highway runs the length of the North border, as well as an additional highway access road in the center of the property. The Riverton Irrigation System canal bisects the farm and provides water for approximately 95 acres below the canal. The water for the remaining acreage is sourced about ¼ mile above the farm off the LeClair Irrigation canal. It is delivered through buried pipe and provides pressure to run the solar powered wheel lines on the property.
Donovan Road just south of the farm, provides access to two additional subdivision lots of approximately 3.86+ and 3.87+ acres on the southwest corner of the property. With privacy, good views and access, these lots would provide an excellent site for a home and improvements. Power is near and Lot 3 has a well. These lots are priced separately and are not included in the 208+ acre farm.
