The RR Ranch is located about a half an hour drive (15 miles) from McCloud, a small Siskiyou County town, on the southern slope of Mt. Shasta on Hwy 89. The population is about 1,100. This northern California town sees many visitors. Visitors use McCloud as a base to engage in nationally-recognized trout fishing in the nearby McCloud and Sacramento Rivers and Lake McCloud or come to see and climb Mount Shasta, Castle Crags or the Trinity Alps. Visitors also engage in nearby skiing (both alpine and cross-country), biking or hiking to the waterfalls, streams and lakes in the area, including nearby Falls of the McCloud River, Burney Falls, Mossbrae Falls, Lake Siskiyou, Castle Lake and Shasta Lake. There is a great 9 hole golf course, several small restaurants, quaint downtown shops and a variety of events and festivals through the year.
Siskiyou County is at the northern most part of the state, sharing a border with Oregon and is a part of what many locals refer to as the state of Jefferson. This area is well known for its scenic beauty and many opportunities for all types of outdoor recreation.
