Seasons can begin late August and run into November, depending upon hunt application and whether archery or rifle is used for harvest. Hostetter Ranch lies within the Northside Management Unit # 47. Mule deer are plentiful on the property and it is generally true that three nice-sized buck will be taken each year. Bagging a bull elk is more challenging due to the expansive territory required to maintain area herds. Drawing a general season tag for the Northside unit will increase the odds, since the thousands of acres of Malheur National
